Wham!, George Michael and Me: A Memoir Free Audiobook Download by Andrew Ridgeley
Andrew Ridgeley, the bassist from Wham!, is no longer a member of the band and wrote this memoir. The book includes memories of George Michael, as well as his thoughts on how the band was formed and how they were at their peak during their time together.
Wham! are still loved and respected by fans all over the world, but my own memories of being a part of that group have been wiped out. In this memoir, I explore not only my memories of Wham!, but also how that experience shaped my life and career.
This book is the story of a boy who was born on December 28, 1963 to be an integral part of Wham!, the British pop music band. Eventually, Andrew would become a member of the band and then later, lead vocalist for Wham! alongside his childhood friend and fellow band mate George Michael. The book chronicles Andrew's life from age four to 18 as he grows up in England with his family and friends.
George Michael passed away on Christmas day 2016, a death that was deeply sad for me and every one who loved George. He was the best artist I have ever known. But as our grief deepened, so did my understanding of this man, and his life, his loss.
This book is a memoir of the life of George Michael and his band Wham! written by his long time friend Andrew Ridgeley. As an avid fan, he shared himself with the readers in such an intimate way that you feel as if you were there with him all through the journey. There are many moments where you can tell that it was hard for him to write this book, but I believe he wanted to let everyone know that despite the fame and fortune, he still had struggles like everyone else.
I was 14 years old and had just discovered Madonna, who changed my life. The first concert I went to was Wham! in Sheffield. My mum and I were waiting for George Michael to come out. But he never did. William, who appeared as the third member of Wham!, came out instead and performed a few songs with Madonna, until he was booed offstage.
