From the age of 12, I always wanted to be a voice actor. Even though I am autistic, I was able to find my way into the field by using old cartoons that starred my favorite TV characters as my inspiration. My parents bought me a cheap microphone and an old boom box, and by recording my voice on cassette tapes, I was able to transform cartoons into audio books. By the time I was 15 years old, I had created over 30 hours of voice over work to sell at conventions across the Midwestern United States.
Voice Lessons was an amazing book and audiobook with a good balance of humor, hope, and perspective for anyone going through recovery. His son is developing Autism and having to learn more about it, the challenges, as well as his son's strengths has led to some of the most touching moments in the book.
