Kevin Sorbo is known for his role as Hercules in the television series of the same name. He was born and raised in a small town outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. One day, at age 15, he became very ill after playing basketball on a hot day and was hospitalized for four days with symptoms that included high fever, severe pain, and seizures. After enduring these symptoms for two weeks, Kevin's parents finally sent him to a hospital in Pittsburgh where it was discovered that he had an abscess on his brain. His brain surgery eventually saved his life but left him with debilitating neuropathy. This new diagnosis gave Kevin the strength to change his life around and go back to school.
