The Three Pillars of Zen: Teaching, Practice, and Enlightenment Free Audiobook Download by Roshi Philip Kapleau

The Three Pillars of Zen: Teaching, Practice, and Enlightenment is a book by Philip Kapleau, the founder of The Rochester Zen Center in Rochester, New York. He was also a student of D.T. Suzuki and Nyogen Senzaki and is an ordained Rinzai Zen priest who studied with Eido Shimano in Japan for ten years.

This work, originally given as a series of lectures in 1983, was the first book written by Roshi Philip Kapleau (1916-2004), founder of the Rochester Zen Center. Kapleau explains that it was the will of his Zen master, Yasutani Hakuun, who would not allow him to write anything after becoming an American citizen and coming to America.

In this classic work, Zen master Roshi Philip Kapleau outlines the three essential teachings of Zen Buddhism: teaching, practice, and enlightenment. His personal narrative traces his own development from a young seeker to an internationally respected teacher who nonetheless remained humble and eager to serve.

The Three Pillars Of Zen: Teaching, Practice And Enlightenment is a great introduction to Zen Buddhism that offers an in-depth look at the three most important aspects of the path.

I thought this was a really good audiobook and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in the basics of Buddhism or Zen. The narrator did a great job and the book was easy to follow. It has an appendix with more information on specific Buddhist topics.
