'Andrea Gallo' narrates. The Girls from Ames is a story of women and a forty-year friendship by Jeffrey Zaslow. This audiobook starts off with the story of Jeffrey Zaslow, a journalist who is interviewing Shirley and Betty. These two women have been friends since they were 8 years old, and now at the age of 60 they are still close friends. It was a point of interest to me that they are still so close in their later years. You hear their stories throughout the book of how they met, became friends, and had different opinions on things like boys, work, and other important things in their lives. They both go through some life events but always stay strong as friends even though they tell you in this book that it has not always been easy for them and that there have been times where one or the other would feel slighted by the other
