Mobb Deep's Prodigy, a young Black man with extraordinary talent and skill, was born in Queens, NY. With his older brother Havoc (who is also a vocalist and lyricist in the group) and their business partner DJ Muggs, they formed Mobb Deep in the late 1980s. The group has been nominated for Grammy Awards twice, has sold more than five million records worldwide and became known for pioneering hip-hop with their Darkjazzy sound. Prodigy was born in Queens, New York on May 15th, 1972. Raised in a crime-ridden neighborhood his entire life. At the age of 10 Prodigy's father left and they never saw him again. His mom was always working multiple jobs to keep her family living. Growing up in such an environment led him to become heavily involved with the activity of drugs, alcohol and guns.
