This is a phenomenal book that I would recommend for all. It was extremely interesting to hear about the life of one of America's most powerful black men and how he has managed to work his way through so many obstacles in the past. In addition, it was interesting to learn about important milestones during his life such as the decision against busing on desegregation and what it was like to grow up in the segregated south.
Sometimes life can be summed up with a single recollection. Clarence Thomas' memoir, My Grandfather's Son, is no different in that respect. This memoir tells the story of Thomas' childhood growing up in a segregated world where segregation on the south side of Chicago was supported by law and white people controlled every aspect of their life.
This book is a memoir written by Clarence Thomas. It begins by documenting the story of his paternal grandfather, Clarence King. Then it goes on to talk about how he was raised in non-traditional ways by his grandparents and provides insight into his life as an adult.
Clarence Thomas is a gripping story of his grandfather and the profound impact his life had on Clarence's own. The audiobook features an interview with Charles Mallon who interviewed Thomas for Esquire in 1982, as well as readings by Clarence himself highlighting the key moments and themes.
