It's Not Always Depression: Working the Change Triangle to Listen to the Body, Discover Core Emotions, and Connect to Your Authentic Self Free Audiobook Download by Hilary Jacobs Hendel

I found this book to be a really great read. The author uses many examples from her own life to help understand the triangle of change. There is also specific work that can be done as a result of listening for your core emotions and connecting with your authentic self.

Hilary Jacobs Hendel's it's not always depression audiobook is an inspiring read that helps you to understand the way your emotions are connected to the body and how change knows no bounds.

Sometimes, it's not depression that is plaguing us. Sometimes something else entirely is going on. And often times, we need to be the ones who listen to our bodies and discover what emotion is under the surface, rather than relying on a diagnosis. In this book based off of Hendel's work with clients, she teaches how to make your emotions your ally instead of an enemy by figuring out how you want to feel and connecting back to yourself as the authentic person that you are supposed to be.

Hilary Jacobs Hendel shares her deeply personal story of living with depression, and how she worked to understand what was causing it. She offers readers advice on how to work with the change triangle (body, emotions, self) from a place of listening and connection. Drawing from her own experience, she walks readers through the major stages of working with this resource, explaining the importance of recognizing which negative emotions are present in one's life, what they mean and how they affect us.

This audiobook is a companion to the self-help book, It's Not Always Depression. Hilary Jacobs Hendel uses her experience with depression as an example of how we can lead transformative lives and connect to ourselves, our emotions, and our authentic selves.

The premise behind this audiobook is that many of us suffer from "depression," but it's not always the case. It's possible to be depressed and have a sense of calm at the same time, which is why Hendel suggests working on three change triangles: Physical, Emotional, Spiritual in order to get to your authentic self - what you're actually capable of doing and feeling. The audiobook starts with an introduction to mindfulness and how it can help you reconnect with yourself; mental tools such as journaling, meditation, and simple breathing exercises are also suggested.
