Deep Work: Rules for Focused Success in a Distracted World Free Audiobook Download by Cal Newport
Are you someone who procrastinates, constantly postpones their work, or is easily distracted by the internet? If so, then you will love this audiobook. It's about how to focus on one thing at a time and avoid distractions. The author explains that deep work is the most important type of work because it leads to creative thought and innovation. Newport talks about how our culture has become too focused on surface-level tasks that are easily accomplished rather than deep work.
It's always been a part of our human nature to be attracted to the shiny, new and exciting. It's why we're drawn to things like social media, smartphones and fast food chains that constantly bombard us with not-so-innocent advertisements for products that are difficult to resist. But the safety nets are slipping away from us as technology advances - which means it's time for us to find other methods of achieving success. Enter deep work: rules for focused success in a distracted world by Cal Newport.
The author believes that deep work is the most important skill for success in the digital age. He defines it as a state of focus where you're working on something cognitively demanding. At its core, Newport says that deep work requires a deliberate practice regimen of uninterrupted time to achieve mastery in a particular area be it an instrument or sport. In addition, he says the ultimate measure of success is not just if your deep work led to success but if you craved more of it.
"It's not enough to say we'll have shorter attention spans in the future. We need to prepare for a world where our attention is divided more than ever." Cal Newport's Deep Work, tells us how.
This is the best audiobook that I have ever listened to. It's only around 5 hours long and it is worth every minute. The author makes a compelling case for deep work, and how it can produce significant returns in any area of our lives. 'Jeff Bottoms' does an excellent job narrating this book. He has an engaging voice and speaking style that keeps you engaged with each chapter.
[This audiobook] is divided into two parts.
