Cork Dork: A Wine-Fueled Adventure Among the Obsessive Sommeliers, Big Bottle Hunters, and Rogue Scientists Who Taught Me to Live for Taste Free Audiobook Download by Bianca Bosker

Bianca Bosker's book, Cork Dork, starts out with an interesting premise. The story is about a wine-loving woman who started her own job in the wine industry and is trying to figure out where she fits in as a sommelier. This was such a compelling topic, and I found myself really getting into the story.

In her book, "Cork Dork: A Wine-Fueled Adventure Among the Obsessive Sommeliers, Big Bottle Hunters, and Rogue Scientists Who Taught Me to Live for Taste", writer Bianca Bosker travels around the world trying out different wines and exploring their history. To enjoy wine in all its many facets, she had to learn about wine technology and understanding its chemistry. She went on a quest from France to Spain to Italy where she discovered that the most important thing about wine is how it tastes. It's true that people have been obsessed with wine for centuries but now more than ever before, researchers have worked hard to figure out why we enjoy certain tastes better than others. Bosker covers everything from the origins of beer and bread to some of the latest research about what happens when we taste something sour or bitter in our mouths.

Wine connoisseurs are a fascinating and diverse bunch. They cultivate knowledge about every vintage and every terroir and seek out the very best bottles for their collections. In this book, Bianca Bosker spends an entire year with a wine-centric tribe in California to learn more about them, using them as characters in her quest to transcend being just another average wine drinker. Not only did the author become one of these sommeliers, she also learned how to program tasting notes - and found herself testing new techniques on both food and wine.

Bianca Bosker has a charming and humorous narration that enhances her story telling. Her voice is pleasant to listen to and the accents incorporated into her narration are fun. As a wine blogger, it was easy for me to picture someone who I knew from this world, someone with whom I shared wine tasting experiences. She writes about wine pursuing with such enthusiasm that I found myself becoming enmeshed in the narrative and wanting more.

The audiobook, Cork Dork: A Wine-Fueled Adventure Among the Obsessive Sommeliers, Big Bottle Hunters, and Rogue Scientists Who Taught Me to Live for Taste, is a memoir about Bianca Bosker's early obsession with wine. The book tells the story of how she began collecting rare vintages, and how her love of wine eventually led her to work at WSJ Magazine; where she interviewed dozens of big-name winemakers and became an expert in the field.
