Brandalynn "Brandi" Carlile, the musician and daughter of two singers, was born on June 18th 1982 in a small town called Placerville, California. She then moved to Seattle with her family when she was young. Her parents were both musicians, so they made sure that their daughter learned how to play many instruments early on. But her passion for music came later than most people expected. At age 14 she had already graduated high school and was working at a school as an English teacher. This is when she discovered music and started writing songs without even meaning to be a musician yet.
