Art and Faith: A Theology of Making Free Audiobook Download by Makoto Fujimura

This is a beautiful book to listen to and one that I recommend to all. This is not a book about the arts. There are no discussions of any artistic techniques or history, but rather it's a work that dives into the deeper meaning of art and how it should be approached in our lives.

Makoto Fujimura's Art and Faith: A Theology of Making is a narrative that follows the journey of an art student to create a project for his final year at school. The story is told through daily journal entries and interviews with those around the protagonist. It not only explores the obstacles faced by the main character but also provides insights on how becoming an artist changed their lives and what it means to be an artist.

Makoto Fujimura's artwork features many complex and dense themes, but it lacks a single central subject. Fujimura incorporates into his paintings both spiritual and theological references that can be seen as expressions of life in the United States during the 1980s and 1990s.

Makoto Fujimura was born in California and received his artistic training at the University of Pennsylvania, where he studied with the painter Cy Twombly. In 1976, Fujimura founded an art studio in New York that soon became a center for artists and intellectuals including John Cage and Robert Rauschenberg. His book Art and Faith: A Theology of Making is one of Fujimura's most celebrated works.

Creator and Artist Makoto Fujimura has always been one to create from his own experiences. In this audiobook, he explores the deep meaning of creation through the lens of the Christian faith.

Art and Faith: A Theology of Making is a comprehensive exploration of the relationship between art and religion that examines how making shapes our perceptions of faith. It is an immersive journey through the world of religious architecture, paintings, sculpture, music, film, and photography to explore how these objects relate to creation.
