Zone One is a disaster fiction novel by Colson Whitehead which follows the near future story of Black September, a city in New York City under quarantine due to a mysterious and deadly virus.

Zone One is written by Colson Whitehead and read by 'Beresford Bennett'. It tells the story of a post-apocalyptic America where the survivors live in parts of the city deemed "zones". The protagonist, John Cooper, has been living in zone one his whole life when an event causes them to be quarantined. This audiobook download has a length of two hours and fourteen minutes.

Zone One is set in a post-apocalyptic future where the world has been devastated by a zombie outbreak. The story follows Bennett as he is tasked with escorting an important politician from New York City to Washington, DC. Bennett must make it through this journey without becoming infected himself or being killed by zombies along the way.

Zone One, written by Colson Whitehead, is a dystopian novel. In the story, Colonel Bennett receives an emergency order to send his troops into the center of a New York City being invaded by an unseen enemy called The Horde. In this post-apocalyptic dystopia, society has been collapsed and the few survivors live in a militarized city called Zone One that borders Zone Two. In the beginning of the book, Colonel Bennett is unsure of what he should do next or what he will find when he enters Zone One.

For me, the main appeal of "Zone One" was that it's a story about stories. It's the story of black-on-black violence in America and how to fix it. It's a story about how we're all writers, but often we can't find our way through. Whitehead's novel is one that feels real, despite its fantastical elements.

The book Zone One centers around the events of an unnamed city in the immediate aftermath of a catastrophic pandemic. The unnamed narrator is alone, and for months he has been scavenging for supplies and weapons to survive. His entire life is focused on this task.
