Michael Ledwidge is an American writer, considered “the master of suspense”. James Patterson, the best-selling author of more than 200 books, and their new book Worst Case will be released on November 7th and you can listen to it as an audiobook!
Worst Case tells the story of NYPD Detective Bobby Cannavale, who is trying his hardest to keep his family from getting dragged into the depths of poverty. When a new case comes up, he becomes determined to solve it and easily does so with help from his colleagues. Everything is going smoothly until James Patterson's editor and agent show up with a new case for him to solve, Bobbys son decides to take matters into his own hands which leads to a betrayal that leaves Bobby broken.
This audiobook narrates in the voice of three different characters from a third-person point of view.
For years, Bobby Cannavale has been known as an actor, but he has just made his debut as a narrator. His roles in the audiobook industry have already been quite successful, and this is his first time narrating a work of fiction.
The story begins in a small town, where the main character and his wife are having a lovely day out, until they are involved in a car accident. The author then examines how the couple's life gradually changes and how they deal with their new perspective on it all.
Sometimes, you need a short, fast paced thriller. This is not one of those books. It takes about three hours to narrate the entire story and it was hard for me to follow at times. The main character, Mickey, has these interesting dreams that he can't quite remember that he's been having since he was young - they've led him to believe his daughter might be alive.
