This is a novel of a young man who goes looking for his missing childhood friend, Salma. He finds out that he has been living with her all along and must find a way to solve their unsolved issues without getting killed in the process.

When the Moon Is Low is a novel about a Pakistani woman who immigrates to America, where she has to learn how to be both American and Muslim at the same time.

The novel is an emotionally charged, beautifully written story. As a respite from the chaos of their lives and struggles with addiction, Nadia and her friend Saeed retreat to Kashmir and indulge in their dreams as well as each other's bodies.
