Uprising: Three Young Women Caught in the Fire That Changed America Free Audiobook Download by Margaret Peterson Haddix

There was a fire that changed America, and Margaret Peterson Haddix's Uprising trilogy tells the story of three young women who were caught in that fire. When the nation was first being formed, three young women from different background and social classes are brought together to help build up the country. One of them is rich, one is poor, and one is black. They're all caught up in a set of circumstances that changes their identities as well as their lives forever.

Uprising: Three Young Women Caught in the Fire That Changed America narrated by ['Suzanne Toren'], is a page turner. It tells the story of three teenage girls during the events of American history; specifically, the days leading up to and directly following September 11th. With their lives rapidly deteriorating as society changes, they refuse to give up hope for themselves and for their future. It also exposes the fact that people are capable of great things when pushed far enough.

In the 1960s, in the U.S., three young African American women were involved in a protest that ignited a fire that changed the nation. The women were trying to integrate lunch counters and they were beaten by police and white people crowding outside. This led them to take action and they eventually founded an organization called Black Lives Matter.

In Uprising, three teenage girls at a reform school in the 1970s have to escape from the school and their captors after it is revealed something horrible is going on there.

Uprising is a great and very interesting book that intertwines three separate stories from the same time period.
