Top Secret Free Audiobook Download by W.E.B. Griffin
The title of this audiobook, Top Secret, says it all. This book is a thriller, and it's fast-paced. I found myself in suspense almost the entire time, wondering who was really behind this and what they were going to do next. The narrator did a fine job reading the story, with an appropriate level of emotion.
The story takes place in the fictional state of Hellas, USA. Gail Thackeray and her little daughter Zoe are kidnapped and taken by a terrorist group called the Organization. The Organization wants to kill Gail because she's a female spy. But they release Zoe instead, so Gail can't tell anyone what's happened until she comes up with a plan to get her daughter back.
This is the first in a series of novels that follows Nick Carter, an agent for the U.S. Secret Service, as he tries to save the President and his family from a terrorist attack.
William E. Butterworth IV has brought a new dimension to the world of audiobooks. Best known for his ten-hour epic Civil War epic saga The Men of Custer, he is a talented and distinctive voice who manages to bring distinction and gravitas to the listener's imagination with his rich baritone delivery. He is also the narrator of Top Secret by W.E.B. Griffin, a suspenseful spy novel from 1978 that features a small group of individuals thrown together inadvertently on a mission in Latin America almost three decades before the events that make up Tom Clancy's The Hunt for Red October, which was published in 1984.
The first novel in the TOP SECRET series is an action packed adventure that's a must-read for fans of James Bond and Jason Bourne. This book has something for everyone who likes a good mystery mixed with edge-of-your seat action.
