Those Who Leave and Those Who Stay Free Audiobook Download by Elena Ferrante

'Hillary Huber's powerful, evocative performance is a perfect match for the story of two women who take different paths, but remain bound by what they carry'

The narrator infuses the story with a sense of fear and desperation. The narration is excellent and provides insight into the characters without having to outweigh the advice given by the protagonist, Elena.

The narrator of the audiobook is able to do such a wonderful job because she has the voice, tone, and pacing of Elena Ferrante. It's not only an easy listen, but also an exhilarating one that I recommend to any Ferrante fan!

This is an absorbing and complex novel that examines the lives of two women who would shape each other's lives in spectacularly different ways: Elena, a successful writer, and Lila, a cobbler's daughter. Their paths cross many times over decades, each in her own way changing the world around them. The narrative is loosely chronological but jumps from past to present with clarity and great skill.

Those Who Leave and Those Who Stay is a novel that follows the life of Tommasina who, having left her family in Naples, has come to start anew as a teacher working in a small town near Milan. The novel, much like Ferrante's other works, deals with themes of love and fidelity in tumultuous times. In this case, it explores the idea of staying true to oneself while embracing change.

The book and audiobook of "Those Who Leave" is set in Naples in the 1950s. The story follows Antonella and Lila, two girls who are not allowed to attend school due to their father's old age. They work for their father's moving business and spend their days with a family of their own: his mistress, his housekeeper, and his driver.
