In 1916, Marie is a young girl living in Paris. She is eight years old and has been brought up to believe that she belongs to the aristocracy, but her parents are now struggling. When she meets a group of migrant workers in the city and takes their side, Marie's life changes forever.

There But For The is the story of a woman whose life changes after her husband's unexpected death and his failed attempt to leave the country.

"There But For The" is a short story that tells the tale of two people who are connected by war and bind their fates through a series of events. The story starts out with Captain Wist when he’s coming back from a war in Afghanistan. He comes home to his fiancée, Eva, who eventually reveals that she never loved him but only married him for his name and his job. They have to live together for a few years until Wist gets used to civilian life and charts out a new career path as an international smuggler-for-hire.

You'll find that there are a ton of audiobooks out there, with the main thing being they're free. But one thing that stands out is the quality of audiobooks on Audible and Amazon - they're both incredibly well-made. This is especially true of books narrated by Anne Flosnik (a great British actress) and its always been my dream to watch a movie as good as the audio reading, so I'm excited for this project.

For the first time, I experienced an audiobook that took me on a full-on journey through my own emotions. Ali Smith's prose is so original and beautiful that it feels like you're having a conversation with her.

As the book begins, a mother and daughter are in the supermarket. They are picking out groceries for a family dinner. They're doing their best to avoid the processed foods at the checkout. Then they turn a corner, into an aisle with products of all kinds, and they can't help but pick up some Oreos. They realize that what they want isn't healthy and it's not good for them, but they just love Oreos so much! This is where I had to take my handkerchief from my purse, because I was choking up at this point! It was so beautifully written and made me feel so many emotions.
