In the audiobook version of Holly Renee's novel, The Wrong Prince Charming, the narrator, Meg Sylvan, does an excellent job in bringing to life the different emotions and thoughts of her two characters. When her protagonist is trying to determine whether she should give up on finding love or not, it becomes very clear when Sylvan changes her voice. Her tone becomes slow and thoughtful as she contemplates giving up on love as well. Even when a twist happens in the story, Sylvan keeps a certain level of maturity that feels more like a real choice than an abrupt ending.

The Wrong Prince Charming is the story of Jennifer, a girl who learns that she was raised as a surrogate for royalty in a kingdom where all the members of royalty share the same set of genes. When Jennifer is selected to become the princess-bride of Prince Damian, she's excited for her new life with her prince but quickly realizes that things are not what they should be. First off, Damian himself is an arrogant jerk and he is constantly fighting with the current princess-bride and his mother. Second, people don't talk to "the wrong prince" which makes him feel like no one really likes him. Now instead of life as a princess being magical and easy, it's just another day of feeling low and unloved.
