The Warehouse: A Novel Free Audiobook Download by Rob Hart
With a title like "The Warehouse", you may guess that it's about an industrial warehouse and you'd be right. But, this warehouse is more than just a building. It's a place where past memories and dreams can be stored away and forgotten. Through the story of three different characters, their lives are connected to the warehouse in various ways, though they don't know it yet. The three voices help to shed light on the themes of loss, family, love and acceptance that run throughout the story.
In Rob Hart's The Warehouse, a group of people are trapped in an abandoned warehouse during a terrorist attack. It is their chance to escape, but they are not the only ones trapped. There is also a wealthy family that has been held hostage for the past five years. With only hours until the building will collapse and kill everyone inside, there is no time left to save either of them.
In this novel, there are three main characters: Jason Culp, Emily Woo Zeller, and Karissa Vacker. Jason is a college student who's trying to find out if he has the courage to get an interview for a warehouse job. Emily is working as a saleswoman at a department store. In June 2016, she sees someone who looks like her biological mother go into a warehouse with the security guard, so she goes in after them and finds herself trapped inside with her mom's best friend. Karissa was kidnapped by her father when she was 10, but soon comes to realize that it wasn't all bad.
They're alive, they're well, they're munching on canned beans in a cold and drab warehouse. They are the last survivors of an apocalyptic event that has left the world ravaged and poisoned.
The Warehouse is a post-apocalyptic novel that takes place in a warehouse in the middle of nowhere. The author, Rob Hart, knows that there is no way for the reader to feel connected with the characters by just describing them and their surroundings. To remedy this, he includes chapters where the protagonist narrates what happened to other people and then switches back to his perspective after those chapters. In this way, it's easy to see who each character is and how they change throughout the story.
