The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox Free Audiobook Download by Maggie O'farrell

In Maggie O'farrell's novel, The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox, a woman's husband dies and the family takes a trip to France. When they get there, a woman tries to steal her son from her. This happens in the middle of the night. While she is distracted by this distraction, Esme's husband disappears. Esme is on an emotional roller coaster because she lost their children during their first night in Paris and didn't know where they went. She keeps thinking that maybe they are at the hotel or maybe they are with her husband but then thinks he might be dead. It isn't until later that she realizes her husband was kidnapped and has been held hostage for six months.

The story is about three siblings returning home to a small town after the death of their mother. While there, they end up being enticed by the mystery of their mother's disappearance. Esme Lennox becomes the prime suspect because she is the only one who seems to have disappeared. The book starts out with Esme narrating her frustrations and guilt at not being able to find her mother. As readers get more caught up in the mystery, they begin to wonder why Esme would do something so drastic and whether or not she did it intentionally.

Anne's account of the strange occurrences is told in a way that allows the reader to hear her thoughts and find out what she knows, without actually knowing everything until the end. The reader becomes part of her investigation into the disappearance, as she tries to figure out what it could be with no luck.

Part of the reason that Esme Lennox's disappearance goes unnoticed is because she was on a pedestal in life. She had never really made any mistakes. There were no such things as bad days. Her flawless behavior and perfectionism were only amplified by her beauty, which concerned so many people around her. How could anyone have missed seeing something like that?

In Maggie O'Farrell's "The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox," the protagonist, Esme Lennox, has her first taste of fame when a made-for-TV movie is filmed on the grounds of her childhood estate. However, she finds that it doesn't last. With no one willing to speak to her, no matter how much money she offers them, Esme is left with nothing but loneliness and regret. That's until one day, when she decides to try something different - reconnecting with people over social media.
