The Unexpected Mrs. Pollifax Free Audiobook Download by Dorothy Gilman
I have always loved audiobooks and I have never had a problem finding an audio book to listen to. The Unexpected Mrs. Pollifax, narrated by Barbara Rosenblat, was my first experience with an audiobook that I found very difficult to listen to.

This was a really good summer read. The book tells the story of what happens when Mrs P buys an old mansion in England from a friend to use it as an estate for her personal use. She is not expecting to find many surprises in the house and after spending all day cleaning up, she turns on the radio for some background noise. To her surprise, she hears a message from her husband asking for help after being kidnapped.
Mrs. Pollifax is a widow living in Switzerland when she, her son and maid are kidnapped on the eve of her husband's funeral. Mrs. Pollifax asks for help from a former colleague who tells her that she may have been targeted to use as leverage against Swiss military intelligence. It takes some time for Mrs. Pollifax to understand what is actually going on but eventually every penny from her late husband's estate will be taken if they don't find her soon.
The Unexpected Mrs. Pollifax is a mystery novel written by Dorothy Gilman and published in 1979. Plot: an older woman, Jane Austen, travels to Europe on vacation with her daughter Lydia and her friend Emma Watson.
