The School for Good Mothers: A Novel Free Audiobook Download by Jessamine Chan

The School for Good Mothers is a riveting dystopian novel about the power fight between Moms, the only people in society with control over the curriculum and children, and Fathers, those who spend their days teaching children to be better fighters. It's a heart-wrenching tale of mothers struggling to keep up with education while Fathers are on top of their game.

The School for Good Mothers is an audiobook about a mother and her two daughters, who are brought together by the chance to attend a school for good mothers. There's a catch, however; the school exists because of children whose mothers were thought to be bad or in need of some type of help. The novel follows each family member as trials and tribulations arise throughout the process of attending this school.

The School for Good Mothers: A Novel tells the story of two Chinese women, Hsiao Wan and Su Yi, who were separated by fate but their destinies converged. The novel follows their paths from the present day back to the early 1900s when they lived in the city of Shanghai where they became best friends at a missionary school. Both women are forced to make difficult decisions because of their love for each other.

Jessie's mother is the president of the School for Good Mothers and her father is a well-respected professor at Yale. When Jessie had to drop out of high school, she did not anticipate what it would be like to have to move back in with her parents and attend their school. Her mother takes a very controlling hand when it comes to what Jessie does as well as whatever family visitors do. When her sister's boyfriend gets in trouble with the police and Jessie is called on to be his alibi, things go from bad to worse.

Catherine Ho has done an amazing job narrating this audiobook for the listener. Her voice is very soothing to listen to, so it's easy to get engrossed in the story. The School for Good Mothers is a story about two women who are brought together by a terrible tragedy. They find themselves entangled in each other's lives and forced to confront their own demons, while also supporting each other through their darkness. Catherine Ho is such a good narrator that I never noticed her voice acting as characters in the book until she mentioned them!
