The Queen of Attolia Free Audiobook Download by Megan Whalen Turner
"The Queen of Attolia" by Megan Whalen Turner is the only novel to make it onto Oprah's list of her favorite books. I have not read "The Queen of Attolia," but I did listen to the audiobook narrated by Steve West. The audiobook was compelling and well paced, making it easy to follow along.
After fifty years of rule, Queen Tamar has lost her sight and all her other faculties. She spends her days lying in bed and thinking about the kingdom she had built up from nothing. There is unrest as the oared ships that brought new settlers to Attolia burn at the docks, but because Queen Tamar cannot remember who to trust, no one is punished. It becomes obvious that something sinister is happening in her kingdom, and it will take a bewitching wizardess to save the day.
With a plot that spans decades and features a cast of characters with unique and diverse experiences, The Queen of Attolia is the sixth book in Megan Whalen Turner's series about the fictional kingdom of Attolia.
After struggling with infertility, Queen Tamar of Attolia is finally able to have a child. But when that child turns out to be an uncontrollable, brilliant boy, Tamar's kingdom and her world are plunged into chaos.
The Queen of Attolia is a fantasy novel. It's set in a fictional country that takes place in its own world, but has similarities to the Middle East. The main protagonist, Katerina is an orphan who is given the responsibility of assuming the throne when her older brother, Prince Constantine, dies. She unwillingly accepts this as she didn't want to be heir to the throne and escape from her responsibilities.
The Queen of Attolia is the first audiobook in the series and it combines history, fantasy and adventure. It features a new world with a mixture of Greek and Egyptian cultures, magic, darkness and light. This is a captivating audiobook that takes you to the world of The Queen of Attolia with its jaw-dropping narration by Steve West.
