The Memoirs of Stockholm Sven Free Audiobook Download by Nathaniel Ian Miller

The Memoirs of Stockholm Sven is a short survey of six days in the life of one man. We are introduced to Stockholm Sven, a Swedish bourgeois in his late forties who has recently retired from his job after producing a number of successful publications. The book is told by Stockholm Sven's increasingly disjointed memories of recent events which he continually tries to piece together; memories that have been altered purposefully or not by his dementia.

A young man is walking down a street in Stockholm. He waits for the bus but it never comes. A car hits him and ends his life. His soul finds its way to another world where he discovers that he's not alone. The boy is told by an old woman with a cane that he has been walked off the earth and must now find his way back home or remain lost forever.

In the Memoirs of Stockholm Sven, we hear from the protagonist who was born in Iceland and raised in Sweden. The story is told through the protagonist's eyes, as he recounts his experiences with his father, mother, grandmother and friends. The novel is written in a raw language that is easy to understand, but it also allows for an even smoother narration by Olafur Darri Olafsson.

In this audiobook of Nathaniel Ian Miller's 'The Memoirs of Stockholm Sven,' the narrator does an excellent job relaying all of the adventures and misadventures, both historical and personal, of Stockholm Sven. This tome is a translation of a long-lost Nordic saga, which was described by the narrator as being "slender" in comparison.

"Olafur Darri Olafsson's reading of these stories made me feel like I was back in the days when I first began to know Stockholm Sven," said one listener. "He is a master at nailing the voice of a middle-aged man."

I was hooked from the first page. The story is engaging and held my attention throughout the many hours I spent listening to it. The author has a wonderful way of capturing the reader's attention, keeping them guessing what will happen next.
