The Magician's Land: A Novel Free Audiobook Download by Lev Grossman
The Magician's Land is a novel in which magic is dangerous and the stakes are high, but it also has more than its share of humor, both dark and whimsical. As the dramatic tension builds, the reader waits to see if the protagonist will be able to save his people or make a colossal mistake that would only be made possible by a magician.
After the events of The Magicians, Quentin and his friends must learn to adapt in a world that has changed drastically.
The Magician's Land is a political book that combines fantasy and historical elements to build a dark story of impending war. It follows Quentin Coldwater, the protagonist, as he discovers that he can enter people's minds and manipulate them to believe what he desires. The book has an interesting cast of characters including Alice Quinn, the girl who guides Quentin through his travels that create much of the plot, Fillory, an alternate world in which magic is possible, and AbraXas Pazuzu, the royal adviser on Fillory.
The Magician's Land is a fantasy novel, the first in a trilogy that chronicles the journey of Quentin, who has been chosen to become the Magician at Brakebills University. While studying at Brakebills, Quentin becomes involved with a secret society that he thinks has magical powers, but it turns out to be something much more dangerous.
In this novel, the protagonist is Quentin Coldwater, a magician's apprentice in a land of magicians. He is sent on an errand to the borderlands between his world and that of the powerful beings known as the Hags. As he runs from one end of a dangerous land to the other in search of his friend Shasta, Quentin's quest for knowledge about magic leads him down new paths and causes him to make choices about who he really is.
The Magician's Land is a well-written fantasy novel by Lev Grossman. The narrator, Mark Bramhall, is not what you would expect. He has a magical way of making you fall in love with his voice and the story told by him. I found myself enthralled listening to this audiobook of the novel.
