The Lonesome Gods (Louis L'Amour's Lost Treasures): A Novel Free Audiobook Download by Louis L'amour
The Lonesome Gods (Louis L'Amour's Lost Treasures) is a novel by Louis L'Amour published in 1967. It was written at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada and is about riflemen who are sent out of the army for refusing to serve in the Vietnam War.
After the Civil War, Louis L'Amour came to be a cowboy. He worked as a ranch hand on his own spread for two years before striking out on his own at age 21. In 1878, he settled in California and found success writing stories that became best-sellers. "The Lonesome Gods", published in 1931, tells the story of three men who set out to find the legendary Lake Tahoe mine purported to have gold worth more than the entire state of Nevada.
"The Lost Treasures" features six novellas originally published in the 1939, '54, '61, and '68 editions of Louis L'Amour's magazine "True West". The sixth novella is entitled (not recorded here) as are the rest of the stories.
"A classic of American Westerns," the Lonesome Gods (Louis L'Amour's Lost Treasures), written by Louis L'amour and narrated by David Strathairn, Oliver Wyman, Jason Culp, and Dan John Miller from Audible Studios, turns out to be one of my favorite audiobooks ever.
The Lonesome Gods (Louis L'Amour's Lost Treasures): A Novel is a classic western novel that tells the story of an outcast who, by his own will, struggles to become a cattleman in the wild and dangerous range lands of the old American West. The book was written by Louis L'Amour and released in 1968.
This is the story of a long-hunted, desperate, and defeated pioneer family. The family had set out to settle on a new land in the west but now they are seeking refuge in a mountain cave. They quickly learn how little they know about the wilderness that surrounds them and when some of the men go out to hunt for food, the rest of the men and women must fend off an attack by Indians.
