The Last American Man Free Audiobook Download by Elizabeth Gilbert

One of the best audiobooks I have ever heard is The Last American Man by Elizabeth Gilbert. It's an epic story about a man who wanted to reclaim everything he was told he needed to be happy: money, fame, physical beauty. He goes back to his hometown in Indiana and reconnects with his old friends from school. Along the way, he discovers just how much more happiness can come from people and relationships than material things.

The audiobook is narrated by Patricia Kalember, who proves to be an exceptional narrator. Her voice, which sounds like a mix of honey and molasses, makes the reader feel comfortable while listening. While some might have mixed feelings about the story due to it being so depressing at times, Kalember's performance keeps the listener engaged in Gilbert's story.

"Elizabeth Gilbert is the author of Eat, Pray, Love and other novels. Gilbert also writes about travel as a lifestyle magazine editor for National Geographic, Glamour, Vogue and others."

This book tells the story of a young man who leaves his small town to try and see what life is like in the big city. He has no job, family, or friends to back him up but he is determined to find adventure. The author does an amazing job of portraying the character's development over time and doesn't do any one thing that would make you roll your eyes at them. The narrator does an excellent job of bringing out the emotions and making it easy for you to relate to these characters as they journey through their lives.

In Elizabeth Gribel's novel, The Last American Man, Theodore runs away from his city to set up a homestead. He's an avid hunter, baker, and gardener. Theodore is also the last man on earth, because he has been banished from society for becoming too successful and 'unmanly.'
