The House Uptown: A Novel Free Audiobook Download by Melissa Ginsburg
The House Uptown is narrated by Emily Shaffer, a young woman with a vivid imagination who has the ability to see what happens next, and extents her powers to make changes. She was raised in the foster system, and seen as an inconvenience rather than someone important.
[Emily Shaffer] is a woman who has always wanted to be successful. When her husband leaves her, she takes the first opportunity that comes along and lands a job at one of New York's most prestigious law firms. She quickly rises through the ranks and becomes the principal associate of one of the top lawyers in the firm. But just as progress seems to be on her side, an old friend from college shows up with news that will forever change their lives.
Often, women are stereotyped as being the weaker sex, but Melissa Ginsburg--who writes under the pen name Emily Shaffer--is here to prove that there's power in numbers. In "The House Uptown," Ginsburg tells the story of a group of friends who move into the same building after a sudden and shocking personal loss. Each woman has a personal struggle; some have dealt with rape and sexual assault, others with addiction. Their bond is one of support and love, though it doesn't take very long for them to discover that their new home has sinister secrets to keep.
This audiobook is a great companion to the book by Melissa Ginsburg. [Emily Shaffer] does an excellent job of narrating the story and she makes the characters come alive with her voice. I really enjoyed this audiobook and would recommend it for anyone who loves reading as well as listening to a good book.
