Before reading The House of Silk, this would have been one book I thought I'd never read. But then I listened to it on audiobook, and it was so interesting that I finished the whole thing in less than a day.

Most audiobook downloads are with narrators like Derek Jacobi, who bring their own unique personality to the story. Horowitz does a great job of capturing an old time feel. When he reads about the characters traveling by horse and carriage, you can hear it in his voice. The House of Silk will transport you back in time to Victorian era London and solve a mystery that will keep you on your toes until its conclusion

Sherlock Holmes is the most famous detective in history, but there have been many others. One of them is the protagonist of this novel. Mr. Sherlock Holmes and his companion, Dr. John Watson live in a country house outside London called 'the House of Silk.' When a man named Charles Augustus White, who has a scar on his cheek like Mr. Holmes, dies two days after being poisoned by a blow to the head from an assassin's pistol, it seems like too much of a coincidence for the good doctor not to take it upon himself to solve the murder before any more people get hurt. As a fan of Sherlock Holmes, I enjoyed Anthony Horowitz's book. It was written by the man who created the television show and is based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's stories. The author is well-known for his work on the popular James Bond series, The Power Game and Foyle's War. I recommend this audiobook download to anyone who loves mystery novels as it is an interesting story with many twists and turns.
