The Historian Free Audiobook Download by Elizabeth Kostova
The Historian is the story of a young woman who becomes obsessed with the disappearance of a young man and his sister during the communist takeover in Bulgaria, and how this obsession affects her life. The one thing that struck me about The Historian was how similar it felt to other historical mystery novels I've read. There was no doubt that this audiobook would be a good listen for different reasons.
The Historian is a book that follows the life of an unnamed historian, who was recruited to study Dracula. The story begins in 1897 when the historian is hired by someone, who puts up a reward and also tells them where they can find Dracula's grave. The journal follows the life of our narrator as they research and search for Dracula, while also teaching us about his past and how he became what he did. Along the way, we learn about how he was and how much blood he had to drink before finally finding him.

Elizabeth Kostova's The Historian is the story of a brother and sister, historians living in Soviet-era Bulgaria, who embark on a quest to learn the truth about their father, who has never written his memoirs. Their journey takes them from the library of Alexandria, through time, across seas and borders. As they piece together their father's early life in Western Europe during World War II, they uncover secrets that reveal the dark mysteries of his family.
The Historian was beautifully narrated by ['Paul Michael', 'Justine Eyre'] who both made the story come alive with their voices. They managed to make it seem like you were there in the 1920s listening to these people's stories. I enjoyed this book and hearing it being read aloud keeps the story fresh and exciting.
