The Haunting of Hill House Free Audiobook Download by Shirley Jackson

Hill House is a big creepy house on a hill. At least that's what it looks like from the outside, and the story of people who have lived there over the years echoes with legend. People die there, people disappear mysteriously, and strange things happen - all at an alarming rate. The Haunting of Hill House tells the story of four siblings who inherit Hill House from their late father. They move in to find a dark history lurking in every corner and soon realize that Hill House is not only haunted - it's alive.

If you have never read or listened to The Haunting of Hill House, this is the perfect time. The audiobook is narrated by Bernadette Dunne and it's one of the best readings I've heard. Dunne was able to capture the tension and horror so well that I felt like I was in the book with the characters.

Hill House was an old house with a checkered past. It was a building that had seen the best and the worst of its occupants. There were stories of ghosts and spirits, horror and terror filling its walls with every passing generation. But in 1938, it was a place for lonely Henry James to come when his wife needed to rest from her busy social life. In this audiobook, 'Bernadette Dunne' narrates through Henry's eyes as he begins to unravel his wife's troubled life at Hill House

The Haunting of Hill House is a classic horror novel about the psychological toll of a family's ancestral home. The audiobook is read by Bernadette Dunne, who also did an amazing job with this book.

Shirley Jackson's ghost story, The Haunting of Hill House, is a classic. It tells the story of four people who must live together in a haunted old mansion. The audiobook download includes the original text and an audio version along with the original music composed by John Dukakis.

The narrator, ['Bernadette Dunne'] is an older woman with a cracked voice. She has a voice that encapsulates the very essence of being old and old-fashioned. This narrators' timbre intensifies the tone of this novel and makes it so much more chilling. It's no wonder that Jackson originally wrote the novel as a short story to be published in The New Yorker magazine.
