The Great Witch of Brittany: A Novel Free Audiobook Download by Louisa Morgan

Polly Lee is a simple country girl who loves to cook and bake, and has a witchy ancestor in her family tree. One day she goes to visit the old witch's house on top of the hill and discovers she is not alone. The old woman has been preserving her magic in a giant spell-book for generations, but now Polly will have to use that magic to save herself and help others escape from the terror that threatens their lives.

In 1624, a little girl named Brigitte went to live with her grandmother in Brittany. Brigitte was a very unusual child, who loved to dance and play by herself. When she was 6 years old, she found out that she had the power of magic which made people laugh at her. One day when she was playing outside, she thought of all the beautiful things in nature - how they were all alive and wonderful because they cared for each other. That night when the moon shone brightly through the trees and lit up her grandmother's house, Brigitte felt herself being drawn closer to it. She then left the forest and danced barefoot on the cobblestones until sunrise

In "The Great Witch of Brittany," Polly Lee has taken over the narration duties and made a remarkable transition. The original narrator, in my opinion, had a tendency to be declaiming rather than speaking and I found that her style distracted from the story. This narrator is much more subtle and fitting to the tone of the text.

The Great Witch of Brittany: A Novel tells the story of a young woman, who is both fated and cursed to live without love. She has been led down the path of the Great Witch by her father and all other men in her life except for one - a knight from an obscure region of France where all witches are hunted. The novel's protagonist, Viviane, travels to Brittany because she believes it will be the first place in France not ruled by King Louis XIV that she can feel safe. To escape the king who would have her burned at the stake, she hides herself away as a humble country woman's daughter.

The Great Witch of Brittany tells the story of a French family who immigrated to the New World and settled in rural New England. The family's youngest daughter, Leah, is afflicted with what today would be called OCD or Tourettes Syndrome. She has trouble controlling her violent outbursts until she meets a mysterious figure known as the Great Witch of Brittany. As Leah makes friends with her new friend, she begins to feel more confident in herself and discovers that she has magical powers she didn't know about before.
