It is by far the most impressive audiobook I've listened to on Librivox. Allan Corduner's voice is perfect for the narrator and he does an amazing job of conveying Thor's complicated emotions, from his point of view. The story of Thor is told in a unique and beautiful way that really gives you insight into the character. In addition, he does a great job with Thor's adversaries, such as Loki. The Gospel of Loki is not your typical story and will delight fans of ancient Nordic myths.
The Gospel of Loki is a story about a Norse god's death and rebirth, which takes place in England. It's written as a series of short stories that are picked up by different characters in the book. The reader doesn't know what will happen next and much like life, it has some twists and turns along the way.
When I first heard about The Gospel of Loki, I was not a huge fan of the idea. A book written by a woman author in which the protagonist is a Norse god? Not my thing. However, when I started listening to the audiobook, something clicked. As I listened to it, and read along with it, I began to understand what this book is trying to say. It's all about self-love and understanding that being human is okay despite our flaws and mistakes.
"The Gospel of Loki" is a novel about the life of Loki, Norse god of mischief and evil. It's written from his perspective and tells the story of how he got from the frost giants' defeat by Odin to becoming the god of mischief. The novel deals with such topics as divine ancestry, memory, morality, and destiny.
The Gospel of Loki is a retelling of the Norse god Loki's story which spans from his infancy to his death. Author Joanne M. Harris uses an unlikely narrator, an Atheist who has no interest in mythology, Christianity or any other religion for that matter, and the story itself is full of humorous twists on Norse myths and turns it into a gripping adventure at once.
