This audiobook is narrated by a woman, but the author of this book is male. I liked that this audiobook had a different female narrator because it was refreshing to not just be listening to a male voice narrating the story.

A detective is investigating a mysterious disappearance of a child when he finds evidence of the present-day murder of an author from his favorite childhood book. After he discovers that the author's house is guarded by a supernatural being and that the creature will only let him through if he can find the other keys, he becomes hellbent on not only finding them all but also escaping alive.

The Forbidden Door by Dean Koontz is an intense, creepy thriller. The narration was not my favorite, but I still enjoyed listening to the story. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys horror or thrillers.
