The Faithful Spy: A Novel Free Audiobook Download by Alex Berenson

The title of this novel, the protagonist's undercover name, might be predictable for anyone who knows the spy genre. However, it does not prepare you for what is to come and the way that Alex Berenson will take you on a wild ride with his brilliant writing style. This book is a testament to his talent as he effortlessly switches between sophisticated international espionage and naturalistic drama.

John Heffernan is a former CIA agent who has retired after a career that spanned decades of service to his country. John is now using his skills to operate as a private contractor for the CIA and is assigned to work with the central European investigative agency, SEBEC. SEBEC's mandate is protecting the East Europeans from Russian influence.

Spy novels are some of my favorite reading material and books by Alex Berenson, who writes both fiction and non-fiction, are always a special treat. I'm really excited to read this book because it tells the story of James Donovan, an FBI agent whose father was convicted for espionage in 1970s Italy. Donovan is working on a case when his old friend from the FBI's Rome office contacts him with information about his father. Donovan wants to find out if his dad has actually been exonerated before he follows in his footsteps but there's no records available since the US government seized them after his arrest. When he finally finds the records, he discovers that not only did the US government secretly help him escape jail time but that they've offered him

Colonel Brian Maxwell is the deputy director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, an agency that is a key player in US intelligence. He's tasked with uniting a fractured organization and balancing the delicate relationships between Central Intelligence and the military. The Faithful Spy is a fast-paced international thriller that follows his career as he navigates and balances this important position while still dealing with personal issues.

In this espionage novel, veteran CIA agent John Heffernan has just been given his first undercover assignment: infiltrate a covert operation in the Middle East, destroy it, and return with the incriminating evidence. The mission goes off without a hitch until he's captured by a group of Syrian terrorists.

When he was a young boy, John Heffernan dreamt of being an FBI agent. Now, at 45, he finally gets his chance when the agency needs an undercover operative to infiltrate the Russian mafia on American soil. After bribing his way into an arranged marriage with a beautiful woman and moving from Brooklyn to Los Angeles with her, Heffernan's wife becomes increasingly suspicious of his activities. While investigating his wife for reasons of his own, Heffernan realizes that there is much more going on than meets the eye in this mission- and what he discovers could have worldwide consequences.
