The Education of Nevada Duncan is narrated by twelve narrators, who respond to different questions throughout the interview.

Nevada Duncan is a young woman who moved to the Colorado mountains to serve as a horse wrangler. She has all the skills needed to take care of horses but no money, and she's now in need of a job. There are a lot of books worth reading and this is one of them. The Education of Nevada Duncan is narrated by five different readers with different accents. Ten-year-old Nevada Duncan, whose father has been detained in a refugee camp, is shipped off to live with his Aunt Cecelia who is a single mom of three boys in Wichita Falls, Texas. At first he struggles to fit in, but soon learns that all the other kids are just as desperate for love and acceptance as he is.
I would highly recommend this story to readers who enjoy historical fiction. I think the format of the audiobook makes it easier for listeners to stay interested in the story because listeners can jump around and still follow along with what is happening. While I don't know much about the history of Nevada's cattle industry, the author does a great job of explaining both Nevada's past and present through her experiences growing up on her ranch.
