I was desperate for a good audiobook, when I stumbled upon Nora Shalaway Carpenter's book. The Edge of Anything is a new age mystery story that has a paranormal twist. Being on the edge and exploring our past lives makes this book unique in itself and it's well worth the read! I listened to the audio book while driving around my city one day and found myself being pulled into this world in such a different way.
"We live in a society that tells us not to push our luck. We have a lot of resentment and anger stored up because all of our lives, we are told not to risk, we are told if we just show up, then it will work out."
Devon Sorvari's performance is superb. The cadence of his voice is perfect for the story, and it lends a sense of weight to the gravity of each moment. The banter between Devon and his friends is witty and charming, but also makes you feel like you are right there with them in their world.
