The Crooked Staircase: A Jane Hawk Novel Free Audiobook Download by Dean Koontz

If you are fans of mystery books, then you will love this audiobook. It starts out with Jane Hawk's family struggling with finances due to the odd behavior of her mother and ends in a massive twist that will make your blood run cold. I would recommend this book for anyone looking for a good mystery read. It's an easy listen and the narrator does a great job.

The Crooked Staircase Audiobook, narrated by Elisabeth Rodgers, is a relatively short story. In the audiobook version, it is 1 hour and 57 minutes long. The novel takes place in the fictional town of Riverview, Missouri, which happens to be quite similar to my hometown of Hermann, MO. I found this Jane Hawk novel to be quite interesting, though it does not have that typical thriller/horror theme that some Koontz novels have. It is more about young people who are trying to do good and how things can go horribly wrong for them.

This is the best book I've ever listened to. It was so good, I continued on and listened to all of Dean Koontz's other books narrated by her.

A former FBI agent, Jane Hawk is a skeptic by nature. But when she's called in to investigate a murder among a group of scientists on an isolated island, she finds herself drawn into the mystery and it won't be until she solves the case that anyone believes her...

A few years ago, Jane Hawk was just another beleaguered mother who lived in a seedy neighborhood in Portland with her three children. As she watched the local kids running wild and free, she struggled to keep her family together, until one day she found herself inexplicably drawn to the dark, foreboding stairs that seemed synonymous with death. The third and final book in Dean Koontz's acclaimed Jane Hawk series, "The Crooked Staircase" is a gripping tale of supernatural suspense reminiscent of Shirley Jackson's "We Have Always Lived in the Castle."

Elisabeth Rodgers' performance of The Crooked Staircase was one that I could listen to over and over again. Her narration is smooth and she distinctly voices each character, making the story wonderful to listen to.
