I loved this young adult audiobook with an Indian twist. The protagonist, 18-year-old Anaya, is a Muslim-American brown girl that moves to India to find her birth mother. I will admit it took me a couple of chapters to fully get into it, but the writing was excellent and the story kept me hooked. The narration was done by P. J. Ochlan and Laurie Catherine Winkel which added a nice touch to the experience because they were both so well done!
In this version of the tale, we find a young man named Bronzed Beast hunting in a forest outside his home. He is astonished to see a creature called the Darkling stealing from one of the trees.
