The Boy in the Forest Audiobook Download by Kestra Pingree

One of the most celebrated collections of short stories published in the last 15 years, Kestra Pingree’s The Boy in the Forest is a collection of tales weaved with magic, tragedy, darkness and light.

The Boy in the Forest is a short story narrated by Kestra Pingree. It has won awards, been translated into twenty-six languages and has also been adapted as a film. The author's style is youthful and exuberant with words like "I'm going to do all this danger-y stuff."

I thought it was going to be a typical suspense story, but I was pleasantly surprised. The writing is beautiful and the story pulls you in from the very beginning.

A boy wakes up in a forest, but he has no memory of who he is or where he comes from. One day, there's a fire nearby and the boy falls asleep in the flames. When he wakes up, his body is on fire and all his memories are gone. This is the story of how our protagonist learns to accept himself as he slowly discovers who exactly he is and why he was abandoned.

The Boy in the Forest tells the story of an eleven year old boy named Luke who lives in a small town surrounded by forest. He and his friends have been exploring the forest for years, but one day they find themselves lost when their dog runs off into the forest. They spend hours searching for the dog and are about to give up when they hear a strange noise. They follow that sound to find baby deer on the move, followed by a wild boar. The boar charges them, but is stopped just short of Luke after he gets scared and shoots at it with his slingshot.

This audiobook was a good one, it is a short story about a boy who has been raised in the forest. When he finally realizes that no one knows where he is, his only hope is that someone helps him find his way back outside of the forest. The author does an excellent job making the reader feel like they are trapped along with the boy in the forest.
