The Blackbirds Free Audiobook Download by Eric Jerome Dickey

A tale of a Nigerian drug trade with the protagonist, Aden, who has been arrested and is being sent to America for trial. It's an easy listening, fast paced story of love, betrayal, and revenge. The narrator does an excellent job portraying the different characters' emotions throughout the book and the audiobook is well edited.

'Adenrele Ojo is a Nigerian immigrant living in New York City who is struggling to find his place in the city and society. He was raised by an American mother, but his father still lives for Nigeria and comes back every year to visit him. When Adenrele's mom gets sick from an accidental overdose, he finds himself struggling with her death as well as his father's impact on him while trying to get his life together.

The Blackbirds by Eric Jerome Dickey is a gripping tale of intrigue and suspense that follows the lives of twin brothers, Adenrele and Antoine Ojo. The story opens with the struggle of the twins' single mother to provide for her sons while they are children. Their father is absent due to the death of their mother's husband in prison. They eventually begin to steal drugs from dealers in order to make ends meet. This leads them down a path from which there is no escape.

This book was in my opinion very powerful and interesting. The story takes place in the future where there's a race between two groups of people for resources on earth. One group is the light skinned people and one is the dark skinned people. There's an old legend about these birds that come out of nowhere to attack if you get too close to them and if you catch them, you can trade it for a wish. The main character feels like he has no hope so he goes on this journey to find these blackbirds and comes across many people who have gone through tragedy but they still go on living their life because they have hope.

The Blackbirds is a fast-paced, action-packed crime thriller by Amin Malak case officer with the CIA and author of "The Innocent"

Adenrele Ojo's narration captures the reader and makes them feel like they are a part of the story in the beginning. The novel is set in West Africa, which Adenrele accentuates in his voice. He does not just read out loud, he makes it sound like he is speaking directly to you. The book has a suspenseful plot and a good ending.
