The Atmospherians: A Novel Free Audiobook Download by Alex Mcelroy
Through a series of strange events in outer space, fourteen-year-old Kayla and her family find themselves on an unknown planet. They soon realize that they are not alone as other people from all over the universe come to help them survive this planet. They must now work with each other to avoid being caught by the government who is trying to establish order by taking down any signs of rebellion.
The Atmospherians is a captivating novel that follows the lives of characters in a fictitious world - once where technology had progressed and the people are living on Earth. It begins with an intro to the city of St. George; highlighting the different species, their beliefs and lifestyles that seem alien to our own today. The story then takes place in America, fifty years into the future when Earth has been abandoned as a planet and replaced with floating cities.
In the first decade of the 21st century, America's atmosphere has been getting worse. The haze is blinding and choking, and the air is thick with pollution. It seems like no one cares except for Molly, a citizen scientist who wants to disrupt this situation. Molly stages protests, guerrilla theater performances, even a light saber battle in the middle of Washington D.C., to raise awareness and energy around her cause
The Atmospherians is a strong story and one of my favorites. The narrator, Emily Tremaine is so talented and I loved the unusual pace of this audiobook. I think it's a great choice for anyone who wants to get lost in a book without getting bogged down with world-building details.
The Atmospherians is a novel about the destruction of the Earth by a deadly virus, and those left on it. From the ashes of a ruined world, an unlikely group of people are forced to confront their fears and prejudices in order to survive. The group's two young children are being led back to civilization when they're kidnapped by bandits and sold into slavery.
The Atmospherians tells the story of a group of friends in New York City as they try to take their lives back from the adults who control everything.
