Summer Sisters Free Audiobook Download by Judy Blume

Summer Sisters has recently been re-released as an audiobook and after devouring this book when I was in high school, I decided to give it another try and my teenage daughter agreed to accompany me. This novel is a great first time read for all age groups.

Summer Sisters is a story about the two sisters, Sally and Judy, living the summer before they go to different schools. The chapters alternate between how the girls feel about their time with each other and what is happening in their lives outside of that time. At first, Sally feels like it's just an average summer, but as she reads Judy's journal entries she starts to realize that her sister is having a hard time adjusting to the changes that are happening in her school. They become close friends throughout the novel.

Published in 1973, Summer Sisters is Judy Blume's first book. The novel follows the story of two sisters, one who is popular and kind-hearted, and the other who has been tormented by her mean classmates and parents her entire life. When their parents suddenly die, they must stay with each other for an extended summer while their mother's estate is being sorted out. The sisters soon realize that they are the only family they have left to rely on and learn to appreciate each other more than ever. They explore a new world of freedom together when they have no one else to take care of them but each other.

Summer Sisters is the story of two sisters and the summer they spend together. There are a few problems along the way, but in the end, all goes well. This book is perfect for anyone who loves reading!

Summer Sisters is a funny, heart-warming story about the bond between sisters. The chapters are told from alternating perspectives of different girls around the age of ten.
