Strange Beasts of China is a folktale collection by Yan Ge and has been translated into English. The audiobook was narrated by Emily Woo Zeller. Strange Beasts of China is very short, only 30 minutes in total. It's a story about a Chinese farmer who happened upon the grisly remains of a Wild Boar (which the book noticeably doesn't mention)in his field and decided to hold a funeral for it. He invited all of the animals from his farm to come join him in his funeral and some other characters from his village showed up as well. The farmer then asked what each animal would like for its feast and everyone got their favorite food.

Strange Beasts of China has been on my TBR list for a long time. I love the cover and just wanted to read it anyway. I was so happy when Audible finally released the audiobook. As soon as I heard Emily Woo Zeller narrate the story, I fell in love with it all over again. She captured the spirit of the book so well and brought it to life with her narration that I could hardly resist rereading it.
