Space Station Down Free Audiobook Download by Doug Beason,Ben Bova
Space Station Down is a science fiction novel by Doug Beason, Ben Bova which tells the story of a space station that is suddenly destroyed. The protagonist of the story, Tom Bowers, is an engineer on one of the solar panels that was destroyed during the destruction.
Set in an alternate near-future, this novel tells of a world where humanity has given up on the search for extraterrestrial life and is busy with its own problems. The solar system is controlled by major corporations who have developed increasingly effective weapons that leave entire planets lifeless. As usual, the United States of America is fighting for domestic rights, but progressivism has been replaced by the conservative "American Dream" movement – run by an irresponsible, wealthy elite.
The story of an astronaut who wakes to find the space station has been taken over by terrorists, and his wife and son are held hostage.
An asteroid has hit the space station. The moon is destroyed and Earth is gone. Half of the space station survived the crash but it's damaged beyond repair. What's left of the crew must find a way to finish the mission, which is to take samples from Mars and bring them back to Earth, or risk losing everything. It's up to commander David Martin and his team to do what they can in order to send as much of humanity back home as they can before they're forced into hibernation.
Lauren, a talented and aggressive woman in the digital marketing department of Space Station Corporation is determined to make her way to the top. She doesn't have time for romance or wasted opportunities, but when she coerces Doug Ben Bova into an affair, Lauren suddenly finds herself caught in a web of lies and deceit that threatens to destroy everything she's worked so hard for.
