The son has a difficult time integrating with society and finds comfort in the world of horror films. He sees his father as the only person that he can trust while they both watch horror movies together. The two eventually grow closer as they experience life together. However, this closeness eventually leads to a tragic ending that may be more horrific than any film created by Hollywood.

Slade House is a novel about a group of people who all have their own stories. The story starts as Dr. Xavier Shan enters Slade House, which is supposedly haunted but has been abandoned for a few years. He and his team investigate the house and find that each story within the house resonates to each tenant's own life. Each person in the house has been given a defining moment in their lives, such as an incident with a loved one or an illness that continues to haunt them. The main character of the novel is Sean Hodge who goes into Slade House after his son dies and finds it to be more than just what it appears on the surface

The narrator, 'Tania Rodrigues', is a call-center worker. She is trying to make her way up in the workplace and has a three-year-old son named 'Adam' who she is trying to raise on her own. One day, she picks up the phone and hears a voice that sounds like someone's dying. After some digging, she discovers that it was one of her coworkers who sounded like he was dying. Eventually, the attempt on his life ends and the woman's husband is arrested for the crime. The wife starts having trouble with her mental health and goes into deep depression.

Slade House is an audiobook narrated by Tania Rodrigues and Thomas Judd. This book is a thriller; it's about three people who die and come back to haunt the family members they left behind. It's told from the perspective of Sally, an old woman who has Alzheimer's and is dying from cancer.

This is a great audiobook! The narrator's voices are distinct, and the novel was interesting to listen to. I loved that it is narrated by two different people who were in a relationship with each other at one point in their lives. It was also helpful that there were two narrators and sometimes they switched chapters.
