Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young is the book that will take you on an amazing adventure of survival, love and hope. You might not be thinking about a book like this right now but it turns out to be one of my favorite books of all time! It's safe to say that this is one of the best audiobooks I've ever heard. The narrator, [Khristine Hvam], does a great job bringing her characters to life. This audiobook in particular can teach you so much about people and relationships because it is a coming-of-age story with such interesting themes.

Sky in the Deep is a beautifully written memoir that tells the story of Adrienne's high school years and one summer. Her mother was not present for her entire childhood, yet she has vivid memories of warm summers spent with her Aunt Brenda in Danbury, CT.

Sky in the Deep is a book that follows two teenagers, Thandi and Zandile, on their journey through South Africa. The girls' story takes place during apartheid when they live in different worlds in opposite ends of town. They meet when the bus they're both on gets hit by a spook-like group of men and then decide to run away together. They have to take a boat across Lake Matabele which has an unspoken tradition of killing anyone who sets foot on its shores.

This is one of the most beautifully written books I have ever read. It is a story about loss and finding oneself that takes place in the Arctic, where characters must work together to survive and find new meaning, making this an excellent book for young adults.
