Short-Straw Bride Free Audiobook Download by Karen Witemeyer

A country girl with little experience of the modern world, Pilar Witherspoon knows she'll never find love in her sleepy home town. So she's determined to leave that behind and live a big city life- just not marry for it. But when she meets the handsome stranger who sweeps her off her feet, Pilar has to put all her decisions and plans on hold.

There was a lot of potential for the story in this audiobook. The premise is interesting, but I felt like there were a lot of missed opportunities for humor. I also felt like the character depth didn't make sense because it seemed that a couple times Pilar's personality changed and this made me question whether or not Pilar was a real person.

What if you could have the handsome, kind and wonderful man of your dreams without all of the long-term complications? What if a simple proposal meant you could find love, get married in two weeks and still have time for friends, family and life?

In this short-story collection, Karen Witemeyer has brought together twelve captivating tales of romance. Each story is about the power of first impressions and the magic that happens when unlikely couples meet.
